A nostalgic space that retains the atmosphere of the Showa era

Sendai City and Kokubuncho are the number one entertainment district in Tohoku, but there are other places in Sendai that can be called the ''sacred place for alcohol lovers.'' Yokocho is a deep spot with a retro feel that sets it apart from the glittering Kokubuncho. Sendai City has more alleyways than other large cities, and Iroha Yokocho, located in the Sun Mall Ichibancho arcade in the center, is a representative one. A series of unique shops entertain people with carefully selected dishes and carefully selected alcoholic beverages.

Ichinisan Yokocho began shortly after the war. Its predecessor, the Central Public Market, was established in 1945, and it is said to have been bustling with customers every day looking for fresh food and daily necessities. From there, the number of restaurants gradually increased, resulting in the current form of Ichinisan Yokocho. The nostalgic atmosphere that still remains today attracts not only locals but also business travelers and tourists.
