Fukushima City/Take on the ultimate outdoor experience “Winter Camp” that can only be enjoyed in winter

You can do it empty-handed! Camping and glamping that even beginners can easily enjoy

Now that we are experiencing an unprecedented camping boom, "winter camping" is attracting a lot of attention. There are many benefits to winter camping, such as fewer insects, warmth from bonfires and wood stoves, hot pots and other hot dishes, the clear air so you can see the stars, and the fact that the area is less crowded than other seasons. If you take precautions against the cold, you can enjoy your outdoor experience to the fullest. This time, we will introduce two spots where you can enjoy winter camping in Fukushima City.

FOME BASE in Moniwa, Fukushima City is a place where even beginners of outdoor activities can enjoy with peace of mind. The theme of this campsite, which is surrounded by rich nature along the Surikami River, is "Fukushima Outdoor Motive Endure". As you pass through the driftwood gate, you will find an outdoor field that looks like a secret base, where you can interact with nature in a variety of ways, including camping, glamping, BBQ, fishing, and workshops.

Glamping, which is attracting attention, is a place where you can enjoy a comfortable stay even if you come empty-handed. Glamping tents come with a bed, table, lantern, AC power, and during this season, a stove. Plans that include dinner come with BBQ ingredients and utensils, so all you have to do is enjoy grilling and eating deliciously. You can enjoy a slightly luxurious outdoor experience.

The camp is a free site and pets are allowed. It is also equipped with facilities such as a kitchen with hot water, flush toilets, and rental and sales of camping and BBQ equipment.

There is also a BBQ plan that includes ingredients, tools, and admission fees, so the good thing is that there is no need for troublesome preparation or cleanup. We also recommend participating in workshops such as starting a fire, experiencing a drum can bath, and making chopsticks using cypress from Fukushima Prefecture.

Although there are no shower facilities, there is a municipal hot spring facility "Moniwa no Yu" about 5 minutes away by car, where you can take a day trip bath for 250 yen for adults and 120 yen for children. There are no soaps and shampoos provided, so you may want to bring your own or purchase them at the reception.

FOME BASE is open all year round, but may be closed in winter depending on the amount of snowfall, so please check in advance.
