Sendai City / The Popular Manga Haikyu!! Unveils a New Monument in One of Its Key Settings!
2025/11/27
Take a stroll through the city and visit the monuments!
Incidentally, this is the third Haikyu!! monument installation. The first was the monument of Shōyō Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, who were appointed Sendai Tourism Ambassadors in 2023. It was installed at Kamei Arena Sendai (Sendai Gymnasium), which appears in the work, but has currently been relocated to the adjacent Tomizawa Park due to large-scale facility renovations (scheduled until March 2027).
The second is the monument of Kei Tsukishima and Tadashi Yamaguchi, which has been installed at the main entrance of the Sendai City Museum since 2024. This is based on the episode in the work where Tsukishima plans to start working at the Sendai City Museum after graduating from university.
The monuments are permanent, so they can be viewed anytime. On a certain day, fans visited one after another, happily taking pictures in their own ways. All the fans were beaming. The monument, which is over two meters tall, is quite impressive. Feel free to pose while recalling the fierce battles from the manga. Don't be shy—embrace your "Oshikatsu" (fan activities)!
Goods featuring the monument illustrations are also sold at each facility, making them perfect souvenirs for your monument tour. Muffler towels are available at Motoyama Seisakusho Aoba Arena and Kamei Arena Sendai, and postcards are on sale at the Sendai City Museum. (Since Kamei Arena Sendai is undergoing full renovation, please purchase them at the gymnasium office a mere 8-minute walk away.) We highly recommend using public transportation for your stroll.
