Akita City/Stimulating artistic sensibilities at the renovated Akita City Senshu Art Museum

Special exhibition of masterpieces of Japanese paintings from a vast collection

When the museum reopened in June, it has been holding a variety of special exhibitions to commemorate the reopening, and is currently holding the "Door to Art - Senshu Art Museum Collection."

A collection of approximately 1,600 items has been collected over 60 years since its predecessor, the Akita City Museum of Art. Approximately 200 representative works from the collection will be exhibited by theme, divided into three periods. ''Japanese Painting'', which is being held until March 16th, is in its third and final season. Many works by Japanese painters born in Akita, including Hoan Hirafuku's ''Milk Tiger'', his son Momoho Hirafuku, and Hiroyoshi Terasaki, are on display in the renovated space.

A wide variety of special exhibitions will be held from April onwards, including ''Delicious Botanical Art at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew - The Story of Plants That Color Our Foods'' (April 26th - June 22nd) and ''Minebane! Contemporary Art - Taguchi Art Collection'' (July 19th - September 7th).

How about an artistic trip to Akita where you can encounter domestic and international works of art that will stimulate your sensibilities?

Today we will be traveling somewhere to report, mainly focusing on the six prefectures of Tohoku. I love traveling both domestically and internationally, even in my private life.
