Are shrines and temples turning into galleries? ''AKIULUMINART'', a tour of art
"AKIULUMINART2024" will be held from November 23rd (Saturday/Holiday) to December 22nd (Sunday). The venue will be restaurants, galleries, ateliers, and shrines and temples scattered over a dozen kilometers from the hot spring town to Akiu Otaki. A variety of works by participating artists will be exhibited, including three-dimensional shapes, sculptures, paintings, and videos.
During the period, a stamp rally will be held using artist chica-bou's eraser stamps. No two stamps are the same, and it's fun just to press them, and if you collect them all, you'll receive a gift, so be sure to participate.
Akiu no Mori Sasaki Art Museum & Doll Museum, which is one of the venues, will open a museum shop selling small pieces and goods by participating artists, as well as act as a general information center and provide directions to the venue. Admission to the museum shop is free.
Please note that opening hours, regular holidays, and whether or not there is an entrance fee vary depending on the venue, so it is best to check the website beforehand before heading out to enjoy a smoother tour of the venue. Viewing may not be possible at shrines and temples due to memorial services, etc.
