Fukushima City/Autumn tradition: “Ginkgo trees at Azuma Sports Park”
2024/10/01
“Ginkgo Light Promenade” lights up the long autumn nights
At Azuma General Sports Park, the ginkgo trees are lit up under the title "Ginkgo Light Promenade" to coincide with the season of yellow leaves. While the entire area is shrouded in darkness, the ginkgo trees illuminated by the lights stand out vividly, creating a fantastic sight that is different from the daytime. During the light-up period, a kitchen truck will be selling snacks, so if you're feeling cold, grab a hot drink or something to eat.
In addition, the 13th "Azuma Teshi-got Market" will be held on October 26th (Saturday) and 27th (Sunday) at the Ginkgo tree-lined venue. This craft market, commonly known as ''Teshiichi'', has about 130 stalls from all over the country selling miscellaneous goods, accessories, woodwork, pottery, and other handmade items. There are also food and drink booths, so why not spend a day leisurely browsing around the booths while enjoying the yellow leaves?
