Aomori City/Wearing Haneto costumes at the Aomori Nebuta Festival
2024/06/03

Even tourists can become Haneto by wearing costumes!
The Aomori Nebuta Festival represents summer in Aomori and summer in Tohoku. One of the attractions is the ''Haneto'', which livens up the Nebuta Festival by jumping up and down while shouting ''Rassera''.

Anyone can participate in "Haneto" without making reservations or registration as long as they follow the rules. The rules are that you must wear a Haneto costume, do not bring in any noise unrelated to Nebuta Hayashi, and follow the instructions of the management. Haneto costumes are sold at local department stores and can also be rented. It's a little difficult to put on a costume by yourself, but of course there are stores that offer kimono dressing services. Don't you get excited when you hear that you can become a Haneto by just jumping in?
After changing into your costume, go to the Haneto meeting place and join the waiting Nebuta group before the Nebuta festival begins. When you hear the sound of fireworks, it's the start of the Nebuta Festival.
