About 20 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bus from JR Morioka Station. Morioka Tsunagi Onsen, which springs up on the banks of Lake Gosho, a dam lake in the Shizukuishi River in the western part of Morioka City, is a hot spring that boasts a 900-year history. The name comes from Minamoto Yoshiie (Taro Yawata), who visited this area during the War of Nine Years at the end of the Heian period, and is said to have discovered the hot springs and took a bath by tying his beloved horse to a stone with a hole in it, and there is a ''Tsunagi Ishi'' left in the hot spring town that is said to have been used to tie his beloved horse.

In April of this year, the name was changed from "Tsunagi Onsen" to "Morioka Tsunagi Onsen," but the hot spring itself has not changed. Boasting a gushing rate of approximately 2,000 liters per minute, the spring quality is simple sulfur spring. It is characterized by its alkaline pH of 8.7 to 9.5, and it feels smooth to the touch when soaked in hot water. It contains 55.6 to 149.9 mg of metasilicic acid, a natural moisturizing ingredient, and is known as a hot spring for beautiful skin.

The location is also a big attraction. Many hot spring inns are built overlooking Lake Gosho, and you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Gosho in front of you and Mt. Iwate (Nanbu Fuji) in the distance. On calm days, Mt. Iwate is reflected on the surface of the lake, and you may even see ''upside-down Nanbu Fuji.'' The beautiful nature and highly effective hot springs are sure to soothe your mind and body.

In the hot spring town, you can enjoy foot baths at three locations and hand baths at one location. One of these days, you can make hot spring eggs at Gensen Park, where there is a footbath, so feel free to bring your own raw eggs and try making them.

It takes about 10 minutes by car from Morioka Tsunagi Onsen to Morioka Tezukuri Village, so it is also recommended as a base for leisure.
