Today we will be traveling somewhere to report, mainly focusing on the six prefectures of Tohoku. I love traveling both domestically and internationally, even in my private life.

Akita City: A short journey through history-filled Omachi, Dorimachi, and Teramachi on foot

Tour the quaint temple town lined with many temples
Teramachi, where temples were gathered during town planning around Kubota Castle, still has around 40 temples. As soon as you step out from the busy main street, you are immediately greeted by a quiet and solemn atmosphere.
There are some temples that award Goshuin stamps, such as Rinshoin, which is associated with the Satake family, Hokkeji, the oldest Nichiren sect temple in the prefecture, and Myokakuji, which enshrines Enmei Jizo, one of Akita's three great Buddhas. At Fuden-ji Temple, you can receive a stamp from the ''7th Temple of the Thirty-six Fudoson Sacred Sites in Tohoku,'' and at Daihiji Temple, you can receive a stamp from the ''24th Temple of the Thirty-Three Akita Kannon Sacred Sites,'' so why not give them a visit?
Please note that the temple is not always open for tourism. If you would like to tour or receive a stamp, please check with each temple in advance. Also, most temples do not have parking lots, so we recommend using public transportation. The main access to Teramachi is about 5 minutes by bus from JR Akita Station, get off at Omachi 2-chome, and walk to Asahikoku Teramachi for about 2 minutes.
