Today we will be traveling somewhere to report, mainly focusing on the six prefectures of Tohoku. I love traveling both domestically and internationally, even in my private life.

Morioka City/A city walk where you can experience local traditions: ”Chagu Chagu Umako” and ”Morioka Mikoda Morning Market”
2023/07/09

Held over 300 days a year! Morioka Citizens’ Kitchen “Morioka Mikoda Morning Market”
In the residential area of Mikoda Town, located south of the center of Morioka City, there are places that are visited by local residents and tourists one after another, even though it is early in the morning. Morioka Mikoda Morning Market is open from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. every day except Mondays. A permanent morning market that is open for more than 300 days a year is a rarity nationwide, which is proof that it is loved by the locals. The grounds are lined with a wide variety of shops selling fresh foods such as seasonal vegetables, fruits, and fresh fish, as well as processed products, bread, and delicatessen dishes. There are also restaurants and coffee shops, so if you get tired from walking around, you can take a break and fill your stomach at the market. In addition to food, they also sell clothing, accessories, and even official goods, so just looking around is exciting.
Also, the best part of a community-based market is interacting with the locals. If you enjoy casual conversations about recommended products and cooking methods of ingredients, you'll feel more familiar with Morioka.
