Akita City/At the castle ruins, along the river. Cherry blossoms that comfort spring in Akita

The special ''Sakura Corridor'' that stretches along the Taihei River

The aforementioned Senshu Park is a well-known spot for cherry blossom viewing, but a hidden cherry blossom viewing spot loved by locals is the Taihei River Cherry Blossom Trees. Approximately 200 Yoshino cherry trees are planted along the Taihei River, which runs through the city. A row of cherry blossom trees stretches for approximately 1km from the Narayama district to the Ushijima district. The contrast between the blue of the river surface reflecting the clear spring sky and the cherry blossom color covering the embankment is unique to this season. Every year, the Taihei River Cherry Blossom Viewing Event is held at the same time as the Senshu Park Cherry Blossom Festival, and stalls are set up near Atago Shimo Bridge, which spans the Taihei River.

It's nice to lay out a sheet and look up at the cherry blossoms, but the cherry blossom corridor that you can enjoy while walking along the river is also very atmospheric. Also, since it is along the river, the temperature is a little low, and the peak of the cherry blossoms at Senshu Park is different, so if you combine the two locations, you can enjoy the cherry blossom season for a longer period of time.

This year, let's enjoy Akita's spring to the fullest in our own ways.
