Aomori City/Feel spring in the melting snow of the Hakkoda Mountains and enjoy spring with Yukimuro Ringo

Enjoy the remaining snow while taking a walk in the air on the ropeway

Spring is slowly approaching the Hakkoda Mountain Range, one of the world's heaviest snowfall areas.

The Hakkoda Mountain Range that rises in the southern part of Aomori City consists of the Kita Hakkoda, which has 10 mountains with Mt. Odake at an altitude of 1,584 meters as its main peak, and the Minami Hakkoda, which has 6 mountains including Kushigamine, and is a treasure trove of wetland plants produced by numerous high-rise wetlands such as Tashirodaira, Tamoyachi, and Kenashitai. The Hakkoda Ropeway, located along the Hakkoda-Towada Gold Line, allows you to easily enjoy the scenery of each season, including fresh greenery in spring, alpine plants in summer, autumn leaves, and frost-covered trees in winter.

It takes about 10 minutes to take a walk in the air from Hakkoda Ropeway Sanroku Station to Sancho Koen Station on Mt. Tamogadake, which is 1324 meters above sea level. From the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Tsugaru Plain, Mutsu Bay, and Mt. Iwaki.

The Hakkoda Mountain Range, where the snow melts slowly, does not reach full-fledged spring until the beginning of May. In mid-May, the beech forest at the foot of the mountain turns into fresh greenery, and you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of bright fresh greenery and lingering snow.

You can enjoy the alpine plants of Tamobara Wetland, which spreads out beyond Sancho Koen Station, from mid-May onwards. The Hakkoda Gord Line is a promenade with a 1km, 30-minute course and a 1.8km, 60-minute course, and you can see the main peak, Mt. Otake, from the observation deck. The promenade is easy to walk even for trekking beginners, but there is still snow even into June, so don't forget to wear appropriate clothes and protect your feet.
