Fukushima City/Fukushima City’s only locally-rooted sake brewery “Kinsuisho Shuzoten”

Sake brewing blessed with water, rice, and people

Fukushima City's Matsukawa district is rich in nature and has many historical sites and cultural assets. During the Edo period, there was ''Hachome-juku'' here, and it was a busy post town with many people as it branched off to Oshu Kaido, Yonezawa Kaido, and Soma Kaido. Kinsuisho Sake Brewery, which currently produces sake in this area, is the only sake brewery in Fukushima City. The company used to run an inn in Hachome-juku, but since the first generation, Mr. Kinjiro, began brewing sake in 1899, the company has inherited its history and tradition for over 120 years. Their signature product, ''Kinsuisho,'' has won gold medals at the National New Sake Appraisals several times, and has received high praise at numerous competitions and appraisals.

A long time ago, there was a goldmine near the storehouse, and the famous water that sprang up there flowed into Suishozawa. The name ''Kinsuisho'' means that the sake is made from the water of the stream. Kinsuisho Shuzoten's policy is to brew sake that is rooted in the region, using not only water but also Yumenoka, a rice from Fukushima prefecture that is suitable for sake brewing, and brewed with great care by local brewers and brewers. The resulting ''Gold Crystal'' has a beautiful aroma and taste, and is characterized by a refreshing taste.

On the 120th anniversary of our founding, we renewed the label of ''Kinsuisho'' based on our determination to ''create sake that conveys the pride of Fukushima.'' ▲ is gold, two horizontal ▲ are water, ● is day, and the playful logo mark is an impressive symbol that represents the silhouette of a kanji character.
