Today we will be traveling somewhere to report, mainly focusing on the six prefectures of Tohoku. I love traveling both domestically and internationally, even in my private life.

Yamagata City/Zao’s “juhyo”, a winter feature, is a miraculous art created by nature
2022/12/28
The “Zao Juhyo Festival,” which also includes illuminations, will be held until February.
The best time to see the frost-covered trees is from late January to late February. When viewing the mountain, you can safely reach the top of the mountain by ropeway without having to walk through the snow. The view from the train window is also spectacular 360 degrees. The rooftop of Jizo Sancho Station, which is located at an altitude of 1,661 meters, is an observation deck, and you can see an impressive view as soon as you arrive. Also, at the ''Restaurant Yamacho'' located at the station, you can enjoy a meal in a warm space while looking at the frost-covered trees.
In addition, at the Zao Juhyo Festival, which is held every year from the end of the year to February, the area is lit up at night (in January, the lighting is only available at the beginning of the year and on weekends). The frost-covered trees that appear in the darkness have a mysterious beauty that is completely different from their appearance during the day. There is also a tour to see frost-covered trees up close in a special heated vehicle called the Night Cruiser, so if you want to experience the power of the frost-covered trees, why not try it out?
After enjoying the frost-covered trees, we recommend stopping by Zao Onsen to warm up your cold body.
