Jododaira trekking where you can encounter the unique scenery of the highlands
For those who want to take a walk, "Jododaira" is recommended. The scenery at an altitude of 1,600m is full of extraordinary things that cannot be seen on the ground. For example, the mountain surface is covered with scattered stones from the eruption of Mt. Azuma, the wetland is dotted with swamps and ponds, and the alpine plants that decorate the surrounding area. Enjoy the varied scenery at a leisurely pace.
Jododaira has a ''Visitor Center'' that doubles as a rest area and a tourist information center, and there is also a wooden walkway adjacent to it. It takes about 20 minutes to go around the wooden path. This course is perfect for light trekking.
One of the great points about traveling to Bandai Azuma Skyline is that it has two of Fukushima's three famous hot springs, Takayu Onsen and Tsuchiyu Onsen, at both entrances. It is also recommended to enjoy a “ladder bath” while viewing the autumn leaves. This fall, let's drive out and look for autumn.
